Paw Friendly Places - Batsford Arboretum
A firm favourite of mine, especially in the autumn, Batsford Arboretum is the most stunning place for a dog walk. With various routes to take there is something for everyone of all abilities. The more challenging routes will definitely test your calf muscles as it gets very steep, but it is so worth it to look back down through the beautiful trees.
The arboretum is situated on a hill and includes the most stunning tree's, a gorgeous little stream running throughout which creates beautiful pools to sit around and enjoy, little winding paths and cute bridges intertwine around the grounds and the views are simply stunning.
Dogs are allowed all throughout the Arboretum including the cafe - which can be rare in places like this. The arboretum just ask that they are kept on short leads at all times and extendable leads are not allowed. I have never struggled to find a litter bin for dog waste when walking around and they even have free dog waste bags at reception if needed.
Personally, I think that the admission fee is very reasonable at £8.95 per adult with concessions, children and family tickets available. Online booking is available and recommended during October and November. A 12-month membership is also available for £35.
Top Tip: Throughout October and November Batsford Arboretum display a leaf watch on their website so you can hop on and check the colour of the leaves to time your visit accordingly.
